We do a strand test before every thermal reconditioning. Most stylists don’t do them at all but we are. (During pandemic we do video call or text pictures instead of walk-in consultation) Some only do them for damaged hair. Others throw the word out as a buzzword and make them “complimentary”. Why is this important? A strand test is the foundation for every thermal reconditioning treatment. So, it’s the only way to assure that your hair will turn out beautifully, while giving us valuable information about your hair.
This test shows me which strength solution to use, how long your hair takes to process, and the proper iron temperatures to use. It’s a real-time example of how your hair will turn out, and I will only treat your hair if your test comes out beautifully. I will let you see and feel the results before your treatment so you know exactly what to expect.
This strand test is imperative, because not everyone will achieve a great result. There are many extraneous factors that, in combination with thermal reconditioning, can ruin your hair. These can include: hair color, highlights, henna, metallics, medications, hormones, and keratins. These can serve to weaken your hair, or react adversely with the thermal reconditioning solution, and negatively affect the end result.

Brazilian Keratin smoothing treatment
Keratin is a hair smoothing treatment that uses a specially formulated hydrolyzed keratin-based solution to restructure, fortify, and restore your hair’s natural brilliance — while reducing curl, wave, and frizz by 60% to 90%.
Your hair will retain some of its body and movement, while styling time and effort will be greatly reduced. Your hair will feel smoother, softer, shinier, and stronger than ever before!
The keratin works on both the cuticle and sub-cuticle layers of the hair for maximum effect. First, the keratin solution is applied to the hair. Next, the solution absorbs into the hair. Then a flat iron is used to drive the keratin deep into the hair’s cuticle, bonding it to the sub-cuticle layer. This bond fortifies and temporarily relaxes the hair at a structural level, greatly reducing the hair’s curl, wave, and frizz.
